On Saturday the 6th March we had our annual family outing to the Mountbatten Festival. It is our main family event of the year because it is so special, we always have a box and meet with friends that we only see on this occasion. 14 of us went this year. The programme ranged widely as usual from Military to Gershwin, Classical to Glen Miller and an extra treat this year was the Royal Marine Drum Corps with a very modern version of drumming on old tin cans, plastic containers and broom sticks that really showed their versatility and brilliance. The Mountbatten Festival supports the Sir Malcolm Sargent Childrens Cancer Fund and Royal Marine and Royal Navy charities. A brilliant evening as usual the tickets range from £11 to £40 it is well worth saving your pennies for booking in November for next years concert which will be in April.
